Spa Services are the fastest growing segment of the massage industry. This continuing education course focuses on product selection, customization, draping, application, and removal of scrubs and body masks. The course was designed for showerless facilities, however instructions are included for adaptation of the protocol for Vichy and standard shower removal, in cases where they are available.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

1. Identify the benefits of scrub and body mask ingredient options
2. Add customizing ingredients to your scrubs and masks
3. Select the best scrub and mask products for your intended results, or prepare your own using raw ingredients
4. Write your own treatment descriptions
5. Build a treatment menu featuring individual treatments, and/or a package that includes a scrub, body mask and massage.
6. Evaluate a completed client intake form to determine appropriateness
7. Identify contraindications
8. Utilize proper body mechanics
9. Successfully perform body scrub and mask treatments
10. Complete the "Hands On" practical homework and final exam
11. Successfully complete the online lessons & final project requirements to earn CE’s.

This will be achieved after successful self-paced completion of:

• 2 video lessons which include supporting lesson handouts
• 6 logged/documented practice sessions
• 1 logged /documented practical exam, proctored by another LMT/CMT
• Completion of online multiple choice final exam questions
• Submission of course completion documentation to CE provider

Before moving on to Lesson 2, which demonstrates hands-on body scrub, mask and wrap techniques, be certain to complete your Lesson 1 homework assignment on page 19 of your treatment handout. This is a required component for CE credit.

Turn to page 8 in your course handout to follow along and take notes on the treatment techniques.

IMPORTANT: Upon conclusion of this lesson, turn to page 18 in your course handout.  You must complete your homework, the six logged practice sessions, and practical final exam as outlined in your course handouts. You will need to have all of this completely filled out in the Final Project Log section at the back of your handout document before moving on with the online portion of the course.

Once you have completely filled out the Final Project Log, you may return to this course to take the online multiple choice final exam. Upon passing the exam, you will be emailed a Certificate of Course Completion.  This certificate is NOT official proof of your CE requirement fulfillment. You must follow the detailed instructions in your handout to obtain proof of your CE hours once you have fulfilled all requirements for both the Final Project Log AND the Certificate of Course Completion.
