Name: Sarah Pacaccio
Years in the Wellness/Beauty Industry:
5 years in the industry. Spa concierge and soon-to-be licensed cosmetologist
Most Memorable Tip:
The most memorable tip I've ever received was a ring from a guest. I complimented her on it and out of the kindness of her heart she took it off and gave it to me. I name is Bridget Green and she's regular guest of our spa. I think she really enjoys the time she spends with us at and wanted to return a nice gesture.
How did you choose a career in the Wellness industry?
I got into the beauty and wellness industry because it's a relaxing environment to work in. I really enjoyed watching the clients leave happy with their needs met. I find it very rewarding to please people.
Greatest reward of doing the work?
The most rewarding thing that I've learned is to multitask. When I first started working it was all very overwhelming. Now, through years of experience I've taught myself to prioritize to get everything done and enjoy my work. I use my work skills to enhance my personal life. I didn't think I was capable of doing so many things. My job at the spa has taught me so much
What would you change about the industry?
In the last five years I've seen this industry blossom so much and change so much. It’s amazing. However, one of the interesting things that I would change about it is the group buying through social media. It is really challenging to balance full paying revenue with discounts to keep the business operating successfully and the guests happy.
Who is your Mentor and why?
My mentor is my sister. She's 10 years older than I am. She is a very strong independent woman, mother of three children, full-time journalist and balancing a full life and family. She's always been a great source of support for me as well as inspiration. She has always been there for me.
